Laura McCarthy, Co-Founder
Skivie.givie.org co-founder Laura McCarthy is a registered nurse who has seen firsthand the need for bare necessities—like undergarments-- for patients in our local hospitals.  She had been donating such necessities on her own which led to her discussion with co-founder, Tim O’Connell, and the subsequent birth of SkivieGivie.org.

Laura has been involved in many local charities over the years.  She has volunteered in her local Food Pantry and Council for the Aging.  She is also a long time school and community volunteer and is very active in youth sports.  Laura is currently employed as a Provider Relations Specialist at Old Colony Hospice in Randolph, MA.  She resides in Abington, MA with her husband and two sons...who are also very involved with the SkivieGivie project!

Tim O'Connell, Co-Founder
SkivieGivie.org co-founder Tim O’Connell has been involved in may charitable endeavors over the course of the past 25 years including, but not limited to; collecting and donating gifts for Toys for Tots, delivering food and drinks to the homeless in Boston, helping out families in need for various causes, donating to the Neely House in Boston, raising funds for child cancer patients and their families at the Floating Hospital in Boston, providing various weeks of vacation properties to children with cancer and their families, founding a youth sports program with the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Dept. nearly 20 years ago that is still in existence today, donating to substance abuse causes and organizations, as well as working on social causes with other non-profit groups.

SkivieGivie.org co-founder Tim O’Connell was raised South of Boston in the Quincy area of Massachusetts and currently resides on Cape Cod and is involved in the real estate development business.

Karen Powers, Corporate Relations Manager 
Karen Powers, Corporate Relations Manager for SkivieGivie.org, develops overall strategy for corporate fundraising.  Karen secures corporate support and manages all aspects of relationships with corporate partners.
Karen believes in giving back to her community and beyond. From an early age, she has given of her time freely. Throughout her life, she has been involved with organizations such as Big Brothers and Sisters, where she was a Big Sister. She has participated in many walks for Breast Cancer and Walk For Hunger. Currently, she is a Brownie Troop #75133 Leader and is working with the NEW Marshfield High School committee to pass the construction of a new high school in town. She also participates in her children’s school fundraisers and her local clothing bank, Sowing Seeds.
Karen is a full time REALTOR® at RE/Max Real Estate in Boston and the South Shore and resides in Marshfield with her husband, Martin and their three daughters. Karen graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Providence College in Providence Rhode Island.
